Google Makes Free QR Codes a Snap

I like easy.
Recently I discovered a way to create QR Codes using Google’s URL shortening service.
Here’s how.

Google Makes Free QR Codes a Snap

It has been slow going, but the case for mobile marketing is strong, and businesses need to be paying attention to it. Google makes it easy for marketers in one way. Any URL you create can be shortened and given a QR Code. QR stands for Quick Response, it looks like the image to the left of this text, square, 3 distinct corners and a crossword puzzle-like boxes in between.

Instructions for Using Google’s QR Code Generator

  1. Visit the nearly forgotten Google URL shortener at goo.gl
  2. Shorten your URL
  3. Select details
  4. Right click on image, and save it, share with others.

Installing a Barcode Reader on Your SmartPhone

If you aren’t using a barcode reader, you’ll want to install one, and text the fancy QR code you just created! There are many free ones to choose from depending on your device:
