Sharing Content on Social Networks with QR Codes

In spite of all the enthusiasm early on about mobile marketing, it hasn’t caught on as quickly as many would have liked.
Last month we talked how to create a QR Code for a URL using Google. What if you want to share other stuff? Or give people the ability to share your content on social networks. There is another free service out there, that allows you to do that and a whole lot more. This needs to be coupled with amobile marketing strategy to be sure, but here is way to share on social networks with QR codes.

Sharing Content on Social Networks with QR Codes

Sharing URLs on Social Networks with QRStuff.com

Visit the site. Select the Social Media option, enter the URL to share, download the image, post or print the qrcode image.
In this example, this will like a URL on Facebook. The user would scan the image with their mobile devices bar code scanner (available in most app markets), it prompts to take to the URL, upon accepting, it takes you to a page showing you liked it on Facebook. (On the Android I tested it on, you to have a Facebook app , or be logged in via browser on the device).

What are the Best Kind of URLs to Share?

Works especially well with evergreen content. About us page, Google map page, event page, and other places.

Viability of Sharing

As nice as QR Codes are, this isn’t the most popular way of sharing. Scanning a barcode of what is on a computer screen to be shared with others on a social network may not be the first thought when people have toolbars, share buttons (like the ones below this post), and share options right within a smartphone when users are browsing your content from a mobile device.
QR codes do, however, provide a unique way for mobile users to share content when it makes sense, as in the case of a PowerPoint presentation. There are other ways you can enhance your marketing using QR codes, we’ll share in a future post.
